Rhonda and I would like to express our deepest appreciation to you for giving us the opportunity to serve as your District Superintendent.
Let me begin by expressing words of appreciation to Superintendent Don and Loretta Steiger. Thank you for your years of service to this Network and for making it easy to follow, trust and respect you. Secondly, we would like to thank the ministers and delegates of the RMMN for your confidence in Rhonda and I. You have really helped us interpret what the Holy Spirit has been doing in our hearts these past few months.
It is important to us that you know we understand the entire purpose and prime directive of this Network is to serve, support, resource and help you! I am reminded of a fun experience I had several years ago when I served in another district office. Once a month I volunteered in our local church’s 3-year old classroom. The teacher of that class did not know I worked in the district office. But one thing she did do was make sure I knew she was in charge! I was her helper. I loved that role. But what I loved even more is when she registered to go to one of the large conferences my department sponsored once a year. It was opening night and we had a dynamic urban choir leading worship. The energy in the room was electric, the lights when up and I walked to the podium to welcome nearly 3,000 people. She was in the front row. When she saw me, she turned to her husband and said, “Honey, look! That’s my helper!” That is perhaps the greatest title I have ever held…HELPER

That’s what we want to be for you…helpers. Each and every day, 24/7 you give your time, energy and passion to serving others in your local context. We can think of no greater honor than to serve servants. Thank you for your trust, your dedication and your enthusiasm for the future. We share it and will work hard to be worthy of it.
